The Western Greenway

Just as Boston has its Emerald Necklace, so do the western suburbs. The Western Greenway stretches from Alewife, to Habitat, to Belmont’s new open space. It continues to Rock Meadow and beyond to the former Metropolitan State Hospital land in Waltham. This greenway provides an invaluable place for migratory birds and other animals, as well as a continuous trail system. The Fund will do its part to protect this regional resource.
